Agility Robotics

Agility Robotics was founded in 2015 out of Oregon State University's Dynamic Robotics Laboratory and is headquartered in Salem, Oregon. It develops robots for human workspaces; this batch records only Digit, its clearly documented humanoid product for industrial deployment.

Digit's current positioning centers on logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing workflows. Agility describes the product and deployment system, while GXO's customer-side announcement confirms a multi-year Robots-as-a-Service agreement and operation in a live warehouse. This supports defined industrial tasks, not arbitrary general-purpose work.

Agility provides a long-running path from academic legged-robot research through product engineering to commercial deployment. Digit tests whether a human-centric form factor can deliver measurable value inside existing logistics infrastructure.

Its strongest evidence comes from sustained customer environments, while capability remains constrained by task design, workcells, safety systems, and integration. Future updates should track deployment scale, skill expansion, and independent safety validation.
